Together with the International Step by Step Association (ISSA), the European Public Health Alliance (EPHA) and the Roma Education Fund (REF), Eurochild is co-hosting this launch event on Tuesday 15 December (13:30 – 14:30, CET) to introduce the campaign vision and objectives, the partnership, to launch the first set of materials, inform of future plans and how we are leveraging the EU influence.
The First Years First Priority campaign is looking to build a strong community of ECD advocates at the EU and national level to ensure ECD stays high on the political agenda.
The campaign prioritizes children from birth to 6 years old, with a special attention on:
- the first 1,000 days of the child’s life;
- the most vulnerable children (Roma and Traveller children, children with disabilities, migrant and refugee children, children at risk of entering, or in, alternative care, and those living in extreme poverty).
The campaign will run in 9 selected countries across Europe (Bulgaria, Hungary, France, Finland, Ireland, Portugal, Serbia, Spain, Romania) under the leadership of national coordinators that will facilitate the establishment of broad coalitions of national partners campaigning together to increase and improve national efforts to support ECD.
The event will contribute to mobilizing a community of stakeholders to jointly learn, reflect and exchange on how we can effectively influence ECD policies and practices across Europe.
